蘭花首先要畫葉 先用濃墨畫葉 畫葉一筆中要有：提－按－提－按－提的過程，表現出側葉的視覺效果，此葉要不斷的多練習，即會熟能生巧，一通百通。第二步是蘭葉的組合，起手筆以一筆長（長筆）二筆交（交叉）三筆破（差次，即使畫面），畫面中留出其鳳眼的空間。（如圖）
第二種畫蘭的起筆法還可以用第一筆短 第二筆長 第三筆破的畫法畫出蘭花的。（如圖）第四筆和第五筆均為補筆。

lesson 18. The method of drawing orchid (一)
Outlining the leaf of the orchid with the dark ink is the first step in drawing the orchid. In order to show it’s visual effect of side leaf, the process of outlining leaf in each stroke is needed to do like that: lift-press-lift-press-lift. More practice makes more perfect and that means for knowing all, should first knowing one method proficiently. The second step is outlining the combination of orchid leaves. First stroke should be longer and then second across, third is blank. See pictures enclosed here:
The second method of drawing orchid is like that: first stroke should be short and then second longer, third is blank. See pictures enclosed here. Fourth and fifth are added as complement.
接上課之一，再添加第四筆和第五筆均為補筆。蘭葉穿插畫法 形式感要強，經過長短蘭葉交叉表現出蘭花的整體畫面效果，注意在畫蘭葉時把握蘭葉的濃淡，使蘭花更富有活力。

Followed last lesson, added fourth and fifth stroke as complement. Outlining orchid leaves in way of interlude for looking more lifelike in it’s sharp. Crossing long and short of orchid leaves in outlining for getting entirely effected in looking of it. Pay more attention in appending the thick or thin of ink as drawing the orchid leaves to make it full of vitality.
