Dessert and desert
Dessert是一種甜點,而the desert是又熱又干的沙漠。
accept意思是接受或是同意某事物,而except意思是排除。
前一個單詞是地點副詞而后者是物主代詞。例如Their house is over there.
Principles是信條、價值觀或是基本原則,而principal意思是學校的校長或是主要的事物。
前一個單詞是個名詞而后一個是動詞,因此你可以advise someone by giving them good advice.
To borrow意思是借貸某物,而to lend意思是借出某物。例如Can I borrow your car? Sorry, I can't lend it to you today.
